What this page covers

Rikaido Me is a how well do you know me quiz at rikaidome.com. This Cookie Policy explains cookies and similar storage in the browser, including tools that third-party advertising partners may set. Read it with the Privacy Policy.

A cookie is a small file a site can store on your device. Local storage and pixels (sometimes called web beacons) can do a similar job. Some cookies are first-party (set by rikaidome.com). Others are third-party (set by a partner such as Google).

What we use today

Rikaido Me does not require an account. The site may use:

A language cookie (or equivalent) so English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Filipino, or Malay stays selected
Local storage on this device for a short list of quizzes you created
Technical cookies the host needs to deliver the page, keep HTTPS working, and absorb basic abuse

These first-party tools run the quiz. They are not used to build a login or to sell a list of names.

We may also load a privacy-minded analytics script to see which pages open. That script is meant to measure traffic, not to retarget you across the web.

Advertising cookies and similar identifiers

We may later show ads, including Google AdSense, on pages that already have substantial content.

Third parties, including Google, use cookies, web beacons, and similar identifiers to serve ads, limit how often you see an ad, and measure whether an ad was shown. Those partners can receive a cookie or device identifier, your browser type, and the page you viewed on this site. Google and its partners may use that information to show ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

This is interest-based advertising (sometimes called personalized advertising or IBA). It does not require us to send your email address or phone number. We will not put personal identifiers into advertising requests.

Google’s advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings. You can also visit www.aboutads.info to opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized ads.

Until advertising is actually switched on, those partner cookies should not appear. When they are switched on, this page stays the public record of that fact.

If we show personalized ads to visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region that requires it, we will use a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP). Personalized advertising cookies will load only after a valid choice is recorded. You can change that choice in the CMP.

A simple notice that we use a language cookie is not a substitute for that CMP. The CMP is a separate, later step that happens before personalized ads, not before you can take the quiz.

How to control cookies

You can delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you block the language cookie, the site may fall back to the default language. If you clear local storage, the “quizzes on this device” list disappears. Shared quiz links still work.

Browser controls differ:

Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
Safari: Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data
Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data

Blocking all cookies can break language memory and, once ads exist, some ad measurement. The quiz answers you already saved on a shared link are on the server, not only in a cookie.

What we do not do with cookies

We do not use cookies to invent a login you never created. We do not set cookies on Google’s own domains. We do not use cookies to collect precise GPS location. We do not use cookies to build audiences around health, religion, sexual orientation, or other sensitive categories.

Changes
